Last week I visited a beautiful pharmacy in Berlin-Wilmersdorf – Saint Charles Apotheke (www.saintcharles.de), a partner store of the eponymous pharmacy in Vienna. They have a really unusual retail concept which is why I’m writing my December Cityscape article for Mintel on Saint Charles Berlin. Continue reading

“Chinesischer Herbst”: Aoiro fragrance exhibition “Smells of the City”
Next Friday and Saturday the Kühlhaus is showing the scent exhibition “Smells of the City” as part of the arts festival Chinesischer Herbst. Air designers Aoiro (http://aoiroair.com) will be recreating the characteristic smells of Beijing – I’m really looking foward to seeing how they’ll do it! I will also write my next Mintel retail trend article on the scent exhibition and the work of Aoiro. Check out their website, they do some really exciting stuff! EDIT: And here is the Mintel article on Aoiro’s scent exhibition: Aoiro brings the scents of Beijing to Berlin.

Store Profile: Fingerbang pops up in Berlin
Today is the last day of The Fickle Finger of Fate, a temporary nail art event organised by Berlin label Fingerbang (www.fingerbang.com). Fingerbang is the creation of nail polish fan Larissa Bechtold, she decided to found her own label and organise pop-up nail art bars all across Berlin. What a fantastic idea! The nail bar is located in Bold Room on Torstrasse 68 in Mitte, check it out! Fingerbang is also my current retail trend article for Mintel and it was great fun to write…..! Here it is: Fingerbang

Globe-M: Arts house The Wye in Kreuzberg – article
The Wye (www.thewye.de) is a very cool international arts house which opened on Skalitzer Strasse in Kreuzberg; if you’re in the neighbourhood go and check it out! I also suggest you visit Konzept 86, a great fashion store which is located on the ground floor of The Wye. It made a wonderful Mintel Cityscape this summer (Konzept 86). And here is the globe-M article about The Wye: Gleisdreieck der Kunst.
In a few days I’ll publish a brief interview with The Wye’s founder Leah Stuhltrager!
