I love to travel, and unless there is a global pandemic happening I visit around ten international beauty trade shows per year.
My annual fixtures include Cosmetokyo in Tokyo/Japan, Vivaness trade show (organic beauty) in Nuremberg/Germany, Beauty Düsseldorf (salon cosmetics) in Düsseldorf/Germany, Cosmoprof Bologna in Bologna/Italy, Cosmobeauty in Seoul/Korea, China Beauty Expo in Shanghai/China and Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong.

In 2017 I attended Vivaness 2017 organic trade show in Nuremberg, followed by Cosmoprof Bologna 2017 in March. In April I went to Asia for a month: Seoul for Cosmobeauty 2017, then Tokyo for retail fun and article research (also für Beautyworld Japan 2017), and finally a few days in Shanghai to attend China Beauty Expo 2017 (my first visit to mainland China). Over the summer months I visited Bucharest and Sofia (loved both cities) and in October I went to Asia again: first Tokyo, then Taipei and finally Hong Kong for Cosmoprof Asia 2017.
In 2018 my key trade show visits were Cosmetokyo 2018 (my first visit since 2014!), followed by Vivaness 2018 in Nuremberg and Beauty Düsseldorf 2018 (check out my Instagram coverage for this trade show), Cosmoprof Bologna 2018, Cosmobeauty Seoul 2018, China Beauty Expo 2018 and Cosmoprof Asia 2018.
And 2019 began with Cosmetokyo 2019, followed by Vivaness 2019, Cosmoprof Bologna 2019, Beauty Düsseldorf 2019, Indie Beauty Expo 2019, Cosmobeauty Seoul 2019, Getitbeautycon 2019, Beautyworld Japan 2019 and China Beauty Expo 2019. In autumn I visited Beyond Beauty ASEAN 2019, Beauty Expo Malaysia 2019 and Cosmoprof Asia 2019. Twelve trade shows. Wow.
2020: The year started out really well; I visited Cosme Tokyo 2020 in January and Vivaness 2020 in February. Then Corona struck in Europe and well, we all know the rest. Most of the international beauty trade shows that I usually visit were first postponed and then cancelled. Cosmoprof Asia 2020, however, took place as a fully digital show and was surprisingly enjoyable.
2021: More digital trade shows! My first virtual trade fair of the year was Cosme Tokyo 2021 (online), followed by Vivaness 2021 (online), Beauty Tech Live 2021 (online) and WeCosmoprof 2021 (online). In September I visited OnBeauty in Bologna (my first offline trade-show since the pandemic began!) – check my Instagram feed for coverage. Cosmoprof Asia Digital Week 2021 was an online event again and so was Beautyspace Malaysia 2021.
2022: The year started with Cosme Tokyo 2022 (online), followed by the gloriously in-person and rescheduled Cosmoprof Bologna 2022 in April (I had the best time ever!). In July, I visited Vivaness 2022 and in November, the relocated Cosmoprof Asia 2022 in Singapore.
2023: The year of the rabbit was a great travel year, beginning with a month in Tokyo (and including Cosme Tokyo 2023). Just two weeks after my return to Germany I was in Nuremberg for Vivaness 2023. In March I visited Cosmoprof Bologna 2023 and Beauty Düsseldorf 2023 (see Instagram for coverage). May: Beautyworld Japan 2023 (Instagram) and Cosmobeauty Seoul 2023. September: Cosmoprof CBE Asean 2023 in Bangkok and Beauty Expo Malaysia 2023 (Instagram) in Kuala Lumpur. And finally, Cosmoprof Asia 2023 which returned to Hong Kong this year.
2024: My first trade fair this year was Cosme Tokyo 2024 in January. Next up: Vivaness 2024 in Nuremberg.
