Today is the last day of The Fickle Finger of Fate, a temporary nail art event organised by Berlin label Fingerbang (www.fingerbang.com). Fingerbang is the creation of nail polish fan Larissa Bechtold, she decided to found her own label and organise pop-up nail art bars all across Berlin. What a fantastic idea! The nail bar is located in Bold Room on Torstrasse 68 in Mitte, check it out! Fingerbang is also my current retail trend article for Mintel and it was great fun to write…..! Here it is: Fingerbang

Advent’s buying up German retail group Douglas
…although I’m not a fan of Douglas perfumeries (this is a purely personal opinion!) it is depressing that yet another German retail group is being acquired by a US investor…..sad! I’m writing a short piece on this for Cosmetics International….

Off-Topic: Mixology / Amano Hotel
Great evening yesterday at the Mixology Birthday Party, got home quite late. Tonite are the Mixology Bar Awards 2012; I’ll be at the Amano Hotel Embassy thing to watch the awards ceremony (which takes places in the Ritz-Carlton on Potsdamer Platz) live on screen. Looking forward to seeing who wins best bar of the year!

Off-Topic: 10 Jahre Mixology!
This has nothing to do with any of my freelance projects but I’m dead excited anyway: On Sunday evening one of my favourite trade magazines ever – Mixology! – is celebrating its 10 year anniversary at the newly opened Rocco & Sanny Bar on Friedrichstrasse.
I’m on the guest list (hooray!) since I’m a subscriber….! Mixology is the biggest German trade mag about the cocktail, bartending and spirits industry in Germany, check it out: Mixology website.

Globe-M: Arts house The Wye in Kreuzberg – article
The Wye (www.thewye.de) is a very cool international arts house which opened on Skalitzer Strasse in Kreuzberg; if you’re in the neighbourhood go and check it out! I also suggest you visit Konzept 86, a great fashion store which is located on the ground floor of The Wye. It made a wonderful Mintel Cityscape this summer (Konzept 86). And here is the globe-M article about The Wye: Gleisdreieck der Kunst.
In a few days I’ll publish a brief interview with The Wye’s founder Leah Stuhltrager!
