And here – as promised – is the brand profile about Jath, the new organic beauty brand from Korean natural products manufacturer Jallon. I had met Jallon at Cosmoprof Asia 2016 back in November; the company has recently taken over the marketing for my all-time favourite beauty brand Whamisa. At the trade show, Jallon presented two new organic brands: Nature Belle (you can read my article about Nature Belle here) and Jath.
Jath is a premium anti-ageing face care range which was launched in the summer of 2016. Like its sister brands Whamisa and Nature Belle, Jath is manufactured by ENS Korea, certified organic by German association BDIH (Cosmos) and the entire range is completely water-free: the first ingredient in all five products is aloe vera leaf water.
The Jath line-up includes an eye cream, a face cream and three serums/elixirs which are packaged in glass bottles and jars; the outer packaging is made from stiff cardboard. All products have been scented with a similar blend of essential oils (rosewood, bergamot, geranium and lemongrass) and the fragrance is rather invigorating: zesty citrus notes, aromatic herbals and spicy wood accords.
The First Cell Boosting Elixir
This is a yellow-coloured gel serum with a very light golden-rosé shimmer. It is refreshing and very hydrating, the skin feels cool and really smooth afterwards. I tend to layer the Jath products and the Elixir is what I apply first. The Cell Boosting Elixir is packaged in a 50ml glass bottle with a pump dispenser and one spritz is enough for the whole face: the Elixir is liquid but not runny. In the evening I often blend the Elixir with a drop of oil and apply that mixture to my face. Works really well! The dominant fragrance note in this product is definitely the lemongrass.
And here is the INCI listing. 96.1% of the product is from certified organic agriculture:

Antioxidant Lifting Gel
The Antioxidant Lifting Gel comes in a glass bottle with dropper. It has a peachy-yellow colour (probably due to the turmeric!) and is slightly thicker and more gel-like than the Elixir, so I use it as a second layer in the morning. The fragrance is dominated by the rosewood!
Here are the INCIs. 95.99 % of the product are from certified organic agriculture:

Anti-Wrinkle Protection Eye Cream
Now this is a curious product! I was surprised by the texture which is not particularly creamy but more like a thick, whitish serum that you pat around the eye area. The colour is a pure blue-toned white and the texture is quite dry (as opposed to oily/rich; I’m not really sure how to describe this!), with a strong lemongrass fragrance. As a rule I don’t like scented eye products (or rather, my eyes hate them!) but they were fine with this cream. I also like the fact that the white colour tones down the shadows under my eyes – in fact, this eye cream seems to brighten my undereye area better than all of the pearly or rose-tinted creams I have tried out over the years. The Protection Eye Cream is packaged in a 15ml glass jar.
Here is the INCI listing. 95.61% of the product are from certified organic agriculture:

Regenerating Hydrating Cream
I gave the Hydrating Cream to a friend of mine so I haven’t tried it out myself. Although I did take product pictures before giving it away! The cream is packaged in a 40ml glass jar.

All Day Antioxidant Recovery Serum
And now we come to my favourite Jath product! Despite the name, Antioxidant Recovery Serum is more like a light and fresh soft cream – a beautiful texture: creamy, supple and just liquid enough. It is absorbed super quickly; the skin feels very moisturised – as if you had applied a rich cream – but completely smooth without any stickiness whatsoever. The pink-tinted serum leaves a very light protective layer on the skin which is a perfect base for my mineral foundation. And the lemongrass and geranium notes are very nicely balanced here. Comes in a 50ml glass bottle with pump dispenser.

A very cool new range. I really need to find out what Jallon’s distribution strategy is for the Jath brand…I’ll definitely keep an eye out for the products next time I’m in Seoul (for those who are interested: this will be in late April 2017 for Cosmobeauty Seoul!).
