This Friday, 18th January 2013, four new exhibitions are starting at Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Kottbusser Strasse 10 in Kreuzberg) – Joris van de Moortel (Belgium), Hyein Lee (Korea), Aiko Tezuka (Japan) and Sharon Houkema (Netherlands). Lee, Houkema, Tezuka and van de Moortel are all artists-in-residence at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien … more info on www.bethanien.de. Globe-M: “Idylle & Desaster”, Bogomir Ecker at Museum für Fotografie in Berlin – article
German sculptor Bogomir Ecker collects historical photographs from all over the world and from all decades – and the Museum of Photography here in Berlin is showing his latest photo installation “Idylle & Desaster” (exhibition website). Very worthwhile.

Globe-M: “…in Lack getränkt”, ancient Chinese lacquer at the Asiatische Museum at Dahlem – article
A special exihibition at the Asiatisches Museum: ancient Chinese lacquer objects from the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties – the private collection of Barbara Piert-Borgers and Walter Borgers. The lacquer art is stunning, go and see the exhibition, it’s on until 27th January (exhibition website).

Live Talk with Takashi Murakami at Hidari Zingaro, Saturday 12th January 2013
Yes indeed, there’ll be a live talk with Murakami in Hidari Zingaro in Kreuzberg this Saturday. How cool is that?! I’ll definitely go; besides seeing Murakami live (!) it’ll also give me a chance to flirt some more with the beautiful ceramic art object by Yuji Ueda …unfortunately I still can’t afford the 136 Euro but I’m allowed to dream, aren’t I??

Globe-M: Japanese Pottery at Hidari Zingaro – article
Here is the globe-M article on the pottery exhibition: Traditionelle Moderne. I totally fell in love with a ceramic object made by Yuji Ueda. Unfortunately it costs 136 Euro so I shall have to wait until I win the lottery. Check out the “Junior High School Vase”, isn’t it wonderful?

Globe-M: “Prefix & Suffix”, Turkish contemporary art at Tanas gallery – article
Friday, 7th December 2012, is the vernissage of “Prefix & Suffix”, an exhibition by Turkish artist Şakir Gökçebağ – looks really interesting, check out his work here: gallery website. I’ve never been to Tanas (www.tanasberlin.de), a non-commercial arts space which specialises in contemporary Turkish art. The vernissage starts at 6pm at Tanas, Heidestraße 50, 10557 Berlin.

Globe-M: “Glücksfälle – Störfälle” exhibition at Museum für Kommunikation – article
A few days ago I went to see the new temporary exhibition at the Museum für Kommunikation – “Glücksfälle – Störfälle. Facets of Intercultural Communication” – what a fabulous exposition. It is colourful, surprising and interactive with a very original exhibition architecture. Go and see it, it’s really worth it: exhibition website. Store Profile: Saint Charles pharmacy in Berlin
Last week I visited a beautiful pharmacy in Berlin-Wilmersdorf – Saint Charles Apotheke (www.saintcharles.de), a partner store of the eponymous pharmacy in Vienna.
