At Beyond Beauty Asean Bangkok 2019: Last discovery at @beyondbeautyasean and the perfect ending to my first Thai trade show - FCT Herb, a Thai spa brand from Chiang Mai. The company was launched in January 2019 with a 15-sku line-up of classic Thai spa cosmetics: a herbal stamp (Pics 1 and 2), body scrubs (Pics 3 and 4), scented massage oils (Pic 5) and fragrance diffusers. The choice of product fragrances includes international favourites like lemon, coconut and lavender but also more regional variants such as champaka (one of my favourite flowers ever!), lemongrass and wild water plum. The Intense Facial Brightening Serum contains lotus seed extract, centella asiatica, liquorice root and niacinamide (Pic 1), there is also a herbal tooth paste with lotus seed extract (Pic 2) and finally the Face & Body Scrub Bar (Pics 3 and 4) which includes turmeric root powder, tamarind fruit extract and lotus leaf extract. Rakmai is a niche brand that manufactures traditional beauty products from uniquely Thai ingredients - like the silk face serum you see in Pic 1, make with silk proteins derived from discarded silk worm pods. These pods also make a fabulous natural and gently exfoliating finger mitt, by the way! Pic 2 shows a silk protein soap and silk pods gift set and in Pic 3 you can see the silk pods that Rakmai sells in individual bags for face care; there is also a body washing mitt woven from the same silk pods (Pic 4). I found their latest launch particularly interesting, the CY Facial Sun Screen SPF45++ - it's a super-smooth clear gel based on apple stem cell extract, which looks and feels like a silicone-based primer. Launched in 2017, 4-sku range (a multi-purpose oil, a styling spray and two different wax products), natural formulations; in Japan #lilay is sold in @loft_official, @biople and in around 500 hair salons. Bibury Coln has bern around for four years, their 8-sku skin care range (5 face care, 3 body care) is manufactured in Korea. Premium price point, sold online and offline (for example in Kis Beauty Store in Centralword mall). Their one and only product: the beautifully packaged Potency White Flower Serum which is formulated with six white flower extracts, including chamomile, white lotus and narcissus poeticus callus extract. Formulated with regional plant extracts such as turmeric, bamboo grass and gotu kola, plus wild honey. Some of the ingredients are certified organic; product claims: free from parabens, SLS, alcohol and parabens - the clean beauty trend at work. There are two ranges: the premium range comprises some 30 fruit and veg (primarily Thai and regional fruits), the "normal" range offers around 27 variants. The fragrances are overwhelming but my god, those visuals 🤩🤩🤩. Thai Tier was launched five years ago, all soaps are made by hand and they look mouthwatering!!! Although the company also sells its soaps in Thailand, I was told that around 70% of the volume is exported, international markets include Korea, Japan, Australia, US, UK and Russia.
